RELEASE AGENTS, CLEANERS & ADDITIVES
Axel plastics manufactures various material to support the flow of plastics, release agents that assist with the demoulding of composites and plastic parts and various cleaners for mould maintenance.
Rotomoulding products
The release agents are suitable for use with fabricated, cast aluminium, steel moulds and plated metal surfaces. We offer a range of both Solvent-based mould releases and Water-based mould releases agents.
Solvent-based release agents are generally preferable for cast iron moulds but suitable for all the other mould types, where Water-based release agents have a three fold benefit, they offer a hazardous free material that can be applied at higher temperatures and at a lower cost than Solvent-based release agents.
Composite products
High gloss and shine is required for composite parts and therefore more care is required to ensure that the mould has no streaks, or rubbing marks.
For Polyester products the XTEND 838 is a suitable Semi-permanent release agent and for Epoxy parts XTEND 1110EP.
Axel also provide a standard High temperature withstanding Wax suitable for once-off release applications like plugs, river tables and many more applications.
Mould Maintenance products
Ensuring your tool or mould is always clean and carries no voids is imperative as this gets transferred to your moulded part. Therefore we carry a small range of mould maintenance products that are suitable for both composite and rotoscoped-moulding moulds.
Additives
Axel plastics additives are used to improve flow in plastics, reduce heat during production to eliminate resin burning, reduce the cycle time and scratch and mar resistance . Process additives are available in pellet or powder form and is incorporated directly into the resin powders. They offer improved dispersion and eliminates welding or knit lines.

- CX-200-XM is a caustic tool stripper, that removes all older release agents, oils, hardened resins and colours from moulds.
- CX500 is a blended solvent that allows sufficient time on the surface of the mould to wipe off any residual dirt on the mould.
- PR-20 is a great mould primer that will cure as an ordinary resin on the surface of your mould before applying the sealer to seal off small pitting holes and rough surfaces.
- XTR is a sealer that enhances the shine of moulds and is used as a sealer to avoid rusting or fine scratches for moulds in storage.
